North Webster Chamber Plans An Event And Appoints Officers
NORTH WEBSTER — North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce board of directors appointed Tammy Waliczek, Dixie Haven Resort, as the new secretary and Kim Bolt, Mutual Bank, treasurer. She will continue in the office.
The chamber held its regular meeting Monday, Nov. 11, in the chamber office in the Tippecanoe Township Building. Jim Smith presided.
Most of the meeting was taken up with discussion on the North Webster town Christmas tree lighting. It will be held 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23. “This is really growing. We are getting enthusiastic response from merchants, who are adding hours and special deals,” informed one of the event’s co-chairman Elise Guy, Guy’s Lawn Care.
The details will be advertised as they are confirmed, both in local media and online. The other chairman is Amanda Meerzo, Mohawk Pier & Lift. “The entire community is invited to attend,” noted Smith.
The 45-foot evergreen on Pilcher Shoe’s lawn has already been strung with brand new lights purchased by the chamber. This was done with the assistance of T-Square Mill and Elevator Supply’s crane. Volunteers from the chamber and T-Square assisted in the operation Saturday, Nov. 9.
The next Third Thursday Business After Hours event will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at the North Webster office of Todd Realty. Appetizers will be served. All chamber members and their employees welcome. Emily Shipley, Todd Realty, has invitations ready to be e-mailed.
The theme is “A Christmas Story.” Chairman Mindy Scaggs, RE/MAX Lakes, announced more businesses are interested in hosting. Those who may want to have an after hours event can contact her.
Meerzo reported she is buying a new computer for the chamber during Black Friday sales. The next meeting of the chamber will be noon Monday, Dec. 9, at the chamber office.
