Warsaw Community Schools Responds To “Fight Club” Reports At Lincoln Elementary
WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools issued a news release on Friday, Nov. 8, in response to news of a “fight club” at Lincoln Elementary School.
On Tuesday, Nov. 5, a teacher at Lincoln Elementary contacted the administration and the School Resource Officer about students who were fighting in the restroom.
It was later determined that students had created a “fight club” that they were posting on social media. Immediately, local law enforcement partnered with school administrators to contact families and put an end to inappropriate behavior.
Students were disciplined in accordance with the student handbook and parents were involved. Ongoing efforts will ensure that this type of inappropriate behavior does not continue. This will be a priority of school administration and local law authorities. A law enforcement investigation is ongoing.
“Although social media posts are ongoing regarding the incident, WCS would like to assure the public that the matter was handled as soon as the behavior was brought to light. WCS is committed to the safety and security of all students and would like to thank the continued support of our school resource officers and partnership with the local law enforcement,” said the news release.
