NORTH WEBSTER — As the foundation is being laid for its new building, North Webster Community Public Library continues to build a financial foundation through fundraising efforts.
As part of that effort, a silent auction will be held at the library throughout the day Friday, Nov. 15 and Saturday, Nov. 16.
A wide variety of donated and handcrafted items will be on display and available for purchase by the highest bidder. Some of the items for sale include vintage chairs hand-painted by local artists, gift baskets, knitted items, collectibles, artwork, quilt, blanket throws, giant stuffed animals, dollhouses, bookcase and many other items.
Patrons are encouraged to browse through the selection and write down their name, phone number and amount they are willing to pay for the items they want. Patrons can bid as often as they like. The highest bidder for each item will be notified by phone.
Proceeds from the silent auction will go to the library’s New Building and Sustainability Fund that will be used to finance and maintain the new library facility. Donations to the fund can also be made online on the library’s website www.nweb.lib.in.us by clicking the “donate” button on the home page.
In other library news, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department will present a program on its K9 unit 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11 in the Adult Services Department.
