Angola Man Arrested In Connection With Theft At Walmart
WARSAW — An Angola man was arrested for a failure to appear and alleged theft.
Seth Daniel Danning, 35, 227 1/2 Maumee Street, Angola, was charged with one count of theft, a class A misdemeanor and one count of Sentence Enhancement Theft, a level 6 felony.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Apr. 7, 2019, a Walmart Loss Prevention Officer said surveillance footage recorded two men, Seth Daniel Danning and Joel Loftfus, enter Walmart and grab food from the deli counter. The men walked past all points of pay with a cart containing the food and a handheld scanner, stopped by Walmart employees before they could exit the store.
The scanner was valued at $723.89. The food was valued at $9.49.
According to court documents, Danning was previously convicted of theft on Nov. 24, 2014, in Stuben County Circuit Court. Loftus was previously convicted of conversion on Aug. 5, 2011, in Elkhart County Superior Court.
On Apr. 25, Danning was released on his own recognizance with a hearing scheduled for July 11, 2019.
Danning failed to appear at the July 11 hearing. A warrant was issued for his arrest, according to court documents.
Danning was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail Sept. 11, 2019, with a bond of $6,500 surety and cash.
