NAPPANEE — Kaitlin Troyer, 17, Nappanee, was flown to Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after the bicycle she was riding was struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning, Oct. 15.

The accident occurred at 4:36 a.m. Oct. 15, on CR 7, near Nappanee.

Police are searching for a 2011-2014 black Chevrolet Cruze with possible front passenger side damage.

Troyer complained of pain throughout her body.

Police report that the vehicle was southbound on CR 7, north of CR 52. Troyer was also southbound on CR 7 when the vehicle struck the bicycle. The motorist left the scene prior to the arrival of police.

The crash is being investigated by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
