Ohio Man Arrested After Allegedly Stalking, Threatening Woman
SILVER LAKE — An Ohio man was arrested after allegedly stalking and threatening a woman.
Eric Michael Seekings, 37, 521 Sugar St., Paulding, Ohio; also showing an address of 323 W. Walnut St., Deshler, Ohio; is charged with fraud on a financial institution and stalking, both level 5 felonies; fraud and intimidation, both level 6 felonies; and criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 17, an officer with the Silver Lake Police Department responded to a report of criminal mischief at a residence. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a woman at the scene.
According to court documents, the woman said on July 7, she and Seekings got into an argument. Seekings threatened to slit her throat and chest bumped her, knocking her phone out of her hand. Seekings kept threatening bodily harm to the woman and told her to watch her back.
She also said Seekings was calling and texting her every day and that she would ignore the calls. Seekings also allegedly contacted her place of employment and threatened to steal the woman’s truck. The woman told the officer she obtained a protective order against Seekings.
On July 17, the woman came home and smelled a strong odor of propane. Upon entering the residence, she noticed the gas stove had been left on. Two televisions were busted, doors were torn off the washer and dryer, mirrors were broken, a shower door was torn off, and diplomas were destroyed. She said she believed Seekings did the damage since he had been threatening her. The damage to the residence was estimated at $2,200.
On July 18, the officer spoke with Seekings by telephone. Seekings said he had taken photographs of the woman’s house before he left and that there was no damage. The officer told Seekings about the protective order and told him not to contact the woman.
That same day, the officer spoke with a man who was contacted by Seekings regarding the woman. Seekings told the man that the woman was a “dead woman walking” and that he was going to “cut her from ear to ear.”
On July 19, the woman contacted the officer and said her credit card had been used without her permission in the amount of $399.99. It was later discovered that Seekings had used the woman’s card.
On July 29, the woman spoke with an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and said that since July 19, she had received 28 phone calls from Seekings, including two messages saying that he “couldn’t wait to finish what he started” and “couldn’t wait to gut her like a deer.”
Seekings was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 10, with a $53,000 surety and cash bond.
