Three People Suffered Injuries In Accident At US 30, East Old Road 30 Intersection
WARSAW — A spider was apparently the culprit in a traffic accident Monday night that injured three people.
The accident happened at the intersection of US 30 and East Old Road 30 at about 7:36 p.m. Monday night, Oct. 7.
Samatha Stutzman, 25, of North Manchester said she was driving her vehicle south on East Old Road 30 and stopped at the traffic signal at US 30 and East Old Road 30. After the light turned green, she proceeded into the intersection when she saw a spider inside the vehicle and became distracted.
Stutzman suffered minor bleeding to her face.
Stutzman’s passenger, Tilly Stutzman, 4, also of North Manchester, suffered from chest pain following the accident, according to an accident report from the Warsaw Police Department.
The driver of the second vehicle, Cynthia Light, 72, of Warsaw, suffered back pain. All three were transported to KCH via EMS.
Light was driving her vehicle north straight through the intersection out of the access road from the K-Mart parking lot toward East Old Road 30 at the time of the accident.
While Stutzman made her left turn through the intersection from East Old Road 30 on to US 30 as Light was driving straight through the intersection toward East Old Road 30, the front driver’s corner of Stutzman’s vehicle collided with the front driver’s side wheel and fender of Light’s vehicle.
Both vehicles were towed. The damage estimate was reported to be up to $5,000.
