Auction A Fundraiser For North Webster Community Center

Cindy Underwood was one of three prize winners during the North Webster Community Center fundraiser.
NORTH WEBSTER — Saturday evening, Oct. 5, was the big annual fundraiser for the North Webster Community Center. After a catered dinner by Chubbie’s Pub-N-Grub, hundreds of items donated by local businesses were auctioned off in either a silent or live auction.
Among the items up for bid were special mementos of the old North Webster High School and North Webster Junior High School.
Glenn Meiser of Lafayette was the winner of the grand prize, which was his choice of $12,000 in cash, a brand new pontoon or a Polaris Ranger. Winner of the second prize, $200 each month for a full year of groceries from North Webster NewMarket, was Cindy Underwood of Syracuse.
The third prize winner of $100 each month for a full year of gas for a vehicle from North Webster Freedom Express was Rick and Cindy White, who live part of the year in Arizona and the rest of the time in North Webster. Only Underwood was present of the three prize winners.
Funds were also raised for the Jon Sroufe Memorial Fund and will be used for roof repairs and air conditioning work in the community center. This was the 11th annual dinner, auction and raffle.
NWCC is not a tax supported facility so the fundraiser helps keep the doors open, the lights on and programming and space for rentals available.
