TIPPECANOE VALLEY 3, MANCHESTER 1
Valley kept its hopes alive in the Three Rivers Conference title race with a 25-17, 25-10, 22-25, 25-20 win over its TRC neighbors. Valley used the combo of Hannah Engstrand and Makenzie Woodcox to pound away at the Squires. Engstrand had 45 assists, two off her school record, and Woodcox piled up 28 kills in the win. Brayden Baney dug 31 attempts to pace the defense. Andrea Kahn led Manchester with nine digs and five kills, Sarah Pegg had five kills and Kendra Kline had 16 assists, nine digs and three kills.
Manchester won the JV contest with Valley 25-13, 19-25, 15-8. Mallory Durkes had 11 kills, Karli Hogue had 17 digs and Macy Kirchenstien had 14 assists for the Vikes.
BETHANY CHRISTIAN 3, TRITON 0
Bethany held off Triton to pull out a 25-18, 25-19, 25-12 result in Bourbon. Emma Hepler and Dylanie Miller each had eight assists and Lexia Hostrawser punched in six kills for the Trojans. Jaela Faulkner added 18 digs.
Triton won the JV matchup 14-25, 25-23, 15-9.
NORTHWOOD 3, ELKHART MEMORIAL 0
More big business from the senior duo of Caroline Mullet and Maddy Payne led NorthWood to a 25-15, 25-23, 25-18 win over the Chargers in Nappanee. Payne rolled up 17 kills and five blocks while Mullet had 37 assists, 14 digs, three blocks and an ace. The No. 3 Panthers also had Alea Minnich rip eight kills, Kendal Miller add 17 digs and an ace, and Kate Rulli chip in three blocks. NorthWood stays unbeaten in the Northern Lakes Conference at 3-0.
Annika Bennett had 10 digs, seven kills, six assists and a block in NorthWood’s 25-22, 18-25, 15-12 JV win. Jayden Gessinger added 12 assists and three aces in the win.
WAWASEE 3, CONCORD 2
Wawasee copped its first NLC win of the season with a 25-21, 25-22, 18-25, 26-28, 15-10 marathon at McCuen Gym. Wawasee’s defense saved it from a Minuteman rally, with Madi Simmons providing 31 digs and six aces and Leslie Vazquez recording 21 digs and three blocks. Emma Dippon and Molly Jones each had four blocks, Dippon adding nine kills and Liz Kleopfer posting 10 assists and six kills. Kai Jamora had 17 assists.
“The girls can breathe again,” said Wawasee head coach Jeff Phillips. “After a few tough losses it was great to get a conference win. Very proud of their efforts and fight.”
The Concord JV won its maatchup 2-1. Laney Gross had seven digs and five assists and Delaney Hare had six digs and two aces for the Warriors.
Concord won the freshman matchup 25-24, 25-23.
LAKEVIEW 8TH GRADE 2, WAWASEE 0
Lakeview won the matchup by a score of 25-18, 25-23. Olivia Devenney paced Lakeview with three aces and two kills and Jael Numfukwe offered two kills and two aces. Wawasee had four aces from Emma Yoder and five kills from Brooklyn Gibson.
LAKEVIEW 7TH GRADE 2, WAWASEE 0
Lakeview pulled off the seventh grade contest by a 25-21, 25-15 count. Maggie Hollon had six kills, five aces and a dig. Mia Jones added five kills. Julie Mishler had five service points for Wawasee.
WHITKO 8TH GRADE 2, MILFORD 0
Whitko beat Milford 25-22, 25-19. Stats were not provided.
