Man Faces Charges After Allegedly Striking Another Man, Pulling Hair From Beard
TIPPECANOE — A Tippecanoe man who allegedly struck another man in the head and pulled hair from his beard is facing battery charges.
Denzil Alan King, 34, 1615 20th Road, Tippecanoe, is charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Sept. 7, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fight in progress.
When the officer arrived, he spoke with a man, whose head was covered with blood. He said he and King were arguing about King driving while intoxicated. According to the victim, King became angry and started hitting the victim in the head with his fists.
The victim was then able to get on top of King and held him down until law enforcement arrived. While he was restraining King on the ground, King allegedly pulled a handful of hair from the man’s beard.
The officer spoke with the victim’s wife, who confirmed the victim’s description of the incident. King tested .103 on a portable breath test, court paperwork said.
