The Lady Lancers were sparked by freshman JJ Aalbue, who had two goals and an assist in an impressive performance.
For the match, Grace owned a 16-3 shot advantage to go along with a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.
Grace’s first goal was scored by Aalbue. Corinne Villalobos led Aalbue with a pass along the left side. Aalbue beat her defender on the endline and then calmly beat the goalkeeper with a shot to the far post in the 41st minute.
Three minutes later, the Lady Lancers’ lead was doubled. Aalbue again proved dangerous on the left side, placing a dangerous cross in front of Warner’s goal. Cassidy Wasson pounced on the cross and scored just before halftime.
The Royals (0-3) were able to muster just one shot in the opening 45 minutes.
It didn’t take long for Aalbue to score again after halftime. Fourteen minutes into the second half, Lea Moessinger sent Aalbue on a run with a long pass. Aalbue rounded the goalkeeper and passed the ball into the untended net at the 59:12 mark.
Three minutes before the end of the game, Grace added an insurance goal. Villalobos dribbled at Warner’s defense and cleverly slipped a pass ahead to Liz Van Wormer, who sliced her right-footed shot just inside the right post for the final 4-0 score.
Grace’s defense earned its fourth shutout of the season. Bethany Blackwood played all 90 minutes in goal and made three saves. She was protected well by McKenna Cruz, Hannah Tkacz, Brooke Kohler, Moessinger and Anna Kuhl.
Aalbue’s five shots led all players, Wasson shot four times, and Sacia Hanson and Van Wormer each notched two shots.
