Suspicious Vehicle Leads To Two Drug Arrests
WARSAW — Two Warsaw residents were recently arrested for drug charges after officers responded to a vehicle suspiciously parked at Walmart.
Tara Rae Holbrook, 35, and Keith Allen Waldridge, 29, both of 3697 N. Oakwood Drive, Warsaw, are being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On Aug. 16, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a report of a male and female sitting in a car in the Walmart parking lot. Dispatch advised the officer that the vehicle was parked next to the dumpster and it was believed that the occupants were smoking illegal drugs.
The officer arrived and identified the driver as Holbrook and the passenger as Waldridge. Both occupants advised that they were homeless, unemployed and had been living inside the vehicle. While speaking to the occupants, the officer observed a bobby pin that had burnt residue on one end, appearing to be a homemade marijuana pipe cleaner.
Holbrook and Waldridge were removed from the vehicle and they provided consent for officers to search. A K9 partner arrived and made a positive alert during an outer air search.
Inside the vehicle, officers found two plastic bags containing a residue that tested positive for methamphetamine, a glass smoking device that also tested positive for methamphetamine and a marijuana smoking device with residue. both Holbrook and Waldridge had personal items inside the vehicle. Waldridge told officers that the drugs in the vehicle belonged to him.
Waldridge was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 16 and Holdbrook was booked on Aug. 29. Both were given a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
