Akron Man Arrested For Drug Charges After Traffic Stop
CLAYPOOL — An Akron man was arrested after an officer who made a traffice sgtop discovered heroin and a syringe in the vehicle.
Shane Wesley Hallstrom, 25, 13520 E. SR 114, Akron, is being charged with possession of a narcotic drug and possession of a syringe, level 6 felonies; possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor; and possession of a narcotic drug sentence enhancement, a level 5 felony.
On July 10, an officer with Claypool Police saw a vehicle with an expired temporary paper license plate on SR 15, south of CR 950S. The officer made a traffic stop and identified the driver as Hallstrom.
According to court documents, while searching Hallstrom’s person, the officer found a syringe and a metal spoon containing a residue that tested positive for heroin.
Hallstrom admitted to using heroin earlier in the day. He was previously convicted of dealing in methamphetamine on Jan. 4, 2016.
He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 18, with a $15,500 surety and cash bond.
