City Seeking Details Related To Recent Vandalism In Parks
WARSAW — Acts of vandalism have been committed recently in area parks.
According to a Facebook post put up Wednesday, July 10, on the City of Warsaw page, vandalism has occurred at Dubois Park, located at 700 E. Market St., Warsaw.
Warsaw Parks and Recreation Superintendent Larry Plummer said they are experiencing various types of vandalism in local parks.
“Some examples include spray painting graffiti on buildings, starting fires and doing damage to fixtures in park restrooms as well as doing donuts in our graded stone lots,” said Plummer.
According to Plummer, the fountain at Central Park has been damaged as well.
“I would just encourage the public to be aware of their surroundings at the parks and if you see anyone doing damage to our parks, please call the police or notify a park employee,” said Plummer. “If you spot vandalism, please call our office or let a park employee know so we can take care of the issue. We want to provide the best recreation opportunity possible and ask the public to help with this situation if they see it.”
Anyone with information related to the vandalism is encouraged to call Warsaw Police at (574) 372-9515. Suspicious activity or vandalism taking place can be reported to Central Dispatch at (574) 372-9511.
