Bonita R. ‘Bonnie’ Geiger
Bonita R. “Bonnie” Geiger, 90, North Webster, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at her home. She was born on January 22, 1929, in Kimmell, to Lawrence L. and Lura L. (Steller) McLallin.
She graduated in 1947 from Cromwell High School in Cromwell and attended Wayne University School of Beauty Culture in Fort Wayne. She was married Sept. 12, 1948, in Kimmell to JD Geiger who preceded her on Aug. 14, 2012.
She was a homemaker and formerly owned and operated Bonnie’s Beauty Shop in North Webster for seven years. She also formerly worked at Thornburg Drugs in North Webster, license branch in Syracuse and Warsaw for 11 years, and the Kosciusko County Treasurer’s office for 12 years.
She was a lifetime Noble and Kosciusko County area resident and wintered for 12 years in Florida. She grew up in the Sparta Christian Church in Kimmell and then attended the United Methodist Church and the Church of the Brethren in North Webster.
She is survived by two daughters: Dawn Fisher, Largo, Fla.; Jill (Dean) Miner, Warsaw; son: Brian Geiger, Warsaw; four grandchildren: Andy (Katie) Miner, Chad Fisher, Heather (Daniel) Kimbley and Brandon (Megan) Geiger; step-grandson: Tony (Cathy) MIner; seven great-grandchildren: Connor, Emily, Dawson, Adam, Ava, Ethan and Madeline; six step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Tamara Ridgway, sister, Joan Spencer, and three brothers: Justin, Gerald, and Kenneth “Lindy” McLallin.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. Private graveside burial will take place in the Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell with Pastor Robert Wyman officiating. Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster.
