Teen Suffers Minor Injuries In US 30 Crash

A 17-year-old suffered minor injuries after turning in front of a semitractor/trailer on US 30, west of SR 15.
WARSAW — A 17-year-old female complained of head pain after her vehicle was struck by a semitractor/trailer on US 30, west of SR 15 around 5 p.m. tonight, Friday, June 28.
According to officers at the scene, the teenager was headed westbound in a Honda Sonoma, when her GPS system told her to make a left turn. The teen made an immediate left turn onto an emergency turn around area in the highway, in front of a westbound Volvo semitractor/trailer. The impact almost sent the teen’s vehicle into eastbound traffic.
The collision was witnessed by a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Officer.
Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Warsaw Police and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Lutheran EMS was called to transport the teen to an area hospital to be checked.
- The driver of this semitractor/trailer was able to continue on his route to Chicago minus a left side headlight.
- The 17-year-old driver suffered minor injuries after following directions on her GPS to make an immediate left turn on SR 15.
