Relay For Life Slated For Saturday At Fairgounds
WARSAW — The 2019 Relay for Life will be held at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds this Saturday, June 8 from noon to 11 p.m.
The community is encouraged to come and take a few laps with the relayers to show their support for those battling cancer, and in memory of those who have passed away from the disease.
Organizers will keep 100 percent of all funds raised right here in Kosciusko County to help with transportation to treatments, lodging for patients, wigs, etc.
Every penny helps and this keeps funds raised by the American Cancer Society going toward finding a cure for this awful disease. The silent auction this year will feature a variety of interesting items that anyone can bid on, not just those participating in the relay.
A few of the confirmed events will be a car and motorcycle show, visits from both Lutheran and Parkview Lifeflight helicopters, a cancer survivor luncheon, hair and nail makeovers for cancer survivors/patients, games, food and much more.
The theme for this year is Disney Movies and teams are encouraged to decorate their sites based upon their favorite Disney movie and dress accordingly. Each hour there will be a different theme and participants will be judged on their costumes, i.e., Cinderella lap, Beauty and the Beast lap, etc.
Registration for the car show will begin at 9am til 11am with prizes awarded at 3 p.m. A $10 entry fee will be required with 100 percent being donated to the Relay for Life. To preregister for the car/motorcycle show, contact Jack Wilhite at (574) 527-0081.
The final meeting for teams and staff for this year’s event will be June 6 at the Shrine Building on the fairgrounds and will begin at 7 p.m.
