Triton Wins Tourney Tune-up At Leo Invite
FORT WAYNE – In the final outing before the state tournament begins, Triton added a notch to its golf belts with a title at the Leo Invitational at Noble Hawk.
Leading the way for the Trojans was Cole McKinney, who won a playoff hole to claim medalist honors at 79. The Trojans peppered the leaderboard, with Beau Hepler taking third one shot back at 80, followed by John Gardner fourth at 81 and Carter Kuntz fifth at 82. Chase Butler had an 88 as the fifth score, putting Triton in at 322, well clear of Garrett’s runner-up 352.
Triton’s B Squad was third with 359, followed by the host Lions at 368 and Eastside at 453.
The second wave of Triton scores had Brock Watkins at 82, Breylon Wareham at 91, Bruce Johnson and Gavin Butler at 93 and Connor Large at 100.
Triton heads into the state series starting with the Warsaw Sectional this Friday at Rozella Ford Golf Club.
