Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
2:43 p.m. Monday, May 20, North CR 75E, north of East Armstrong Road, Warsaw. Driver: Jessica Brito, 36, East CR 200N, Warsaw. Brito told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on CR 75E and that she was ordering a cake when her vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and reentered the roadway before coming to rest on the west side of the road. Brito complained of neck and chest pain and was transported to Goshen Hospital for evaluation. Damage up to $10,000.
6:55 a.m. Saturday, May 18, East CR 900N, west of North CR 100E, Milford. Driver: Todd E. Blake, 46, East Main Street, Warsaw. Blake told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on CR 900N when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
North Webster
Officers from the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
11:45 p.m. Friday, May 17, North Sawgrass Lane, Leesburg. Driver: Caleb P. VanLue, 18, North Hiawatha Drive, Syracuse. Police reported that the owner of a parked car said VanLue called and reported that he had driven his vehicle into the parked vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Silver Lake
Officers from the Silver Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
9:58 p.m. Friday, May 17, West SR 14, west of South CR 600W, Silver Lake. Driver: Joshua S. Neufer, 37, West Rochester Street, Akron. Neufer told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on SR 14 when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:41 p.m. Monday, May 20, Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Drivers: Shirley A. Vanderveer, 83, East Maple Grove, Syracuse; Trevor R. Blocker, 25, South County Farm Road, Claypool. Vanderveer told police she was driving her vehicle out of the Walmart parking lot and did not see the vehicle driven by Blocker approaching from her left. She said she pulled her vehicle into the path of Blocker’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
9:56 a.m. Monday, May 20, West US 30, west of North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jeffrey A. Shipe, 62, CR 35, Waterloo; Larry R. Holderman, 61, West CR 300N, Warsaw; Leonard H. Morris, 68, CR 23, Goshen. Shipe told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on US 30, approaching the intersection with Parker Street. He said he wasn’t paying attention and that he was unable to stop his vehicle before it struck the rear of Holderman’s vehicle, which in turn collided with Morris’ vehicle. Holderman suffered head injuries and was transported by ambulance to the hospital, while Shipe agreed to a voluntary blood draw and was also transported to the hospital for a blood test. Damage up to $25,000.
