Antique Outboard Show This Saturday
NORTH WEBSTER — The Antique Outboard Motor Club will hold its 2019 Spring Show and Swap Meet Saturday, May 18, in the North Webster Town Park on the west shore of Webster Lake (by the Dixie boat dock).
The meet starts at approximately 10 a.m. and usually runs to mid-afternoon. Many participants stay late in the day, if the weather is pleasant, to run their antique motors on the lake.
The public is invited and encourage to attend. There is no admission fee.
Several hundred antique outboard motor restorers, historians, collectors and enthusiasts from cross the Midwest will gather in the park for this day of activities. There will be an exhibit of recent restoration projects; a swap area; and running the old-time motors on the lake. The swap area includes all types of parts, literature, antique motors and related accessories.
Many antique motors are bought, sold and evaluated throughout the day. Owners of old outboard motors who live in the area are invited to bring their old motors for an evaluation.
The national Antique Outboard Motor Club, with more than 5,000 members, classifies an antique outboard as one manufactured prior to 1950. Those manufactured prior to 1988 are called classic outboards.
