NORTHWOOD 4, BETHANY CHRISTIAN 1
The Panthers outhustled the rain to get in a non-conference win Thursday afternoon against the visiting Bruins.
NorthWood’s four court triumphs were all in straight sets. Reegan Miller cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 against Meg Heinisch to start things off. Gretchen Adams added a 6-1, 6-2 win against Reyna King and Alex Jesse made it 3-for-3 on the singles courts with a 6-2, 6-4 victory against Mariah Miller.
NorthWood pulled its fourth court with a 6-2, 6-1 final from Caroline Mullet and Kate Stillson over Naomi Klaussen and Rachel Leininger at No. 2 doubles.
Bethany grabbed its lone huzzah from Ana King and Caroline Cartmel, a three-set winner over Riley Graber and Lauren Mikel in a 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 result.
NorthWood had Kerri Easton and Iolana Reedy both win JV singles courts.
NorthWood (7-2) competes again Saturday at the DeKalb Invite.
TRITON-LAVILLE POSTPONED
Triton got its matchup with LaVille started, but the rain won the afternoon.
The Trojans were up 1-0 on three courts and ahead on the other two before the rains began to fall and put a halt on matters in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference match.
Molly McFarland won her first set, 6-1, and is up 1-0 at No. 1 singles. Maddie Ritchison also won her first set, 6-2, and is into the second set at No. 2. Ivy Powell at No. 3 is leading 5-1.
The No. 1 doubles team of Emma Hepler and Lexia Hostrawser are up 5-1 in the first set and Haley Hooley and Madison Davis claimed a 6-1 first set win at No. 2, and are tied 1-1 in the second set.
A make-up for the conference match was not immediately announced.
