The driver of a pickup truck was hospitalized after he lost control of the vehicle on CR 500S, west of Burket, on Thursday afternoon, April 25.

BURKET — One person was injured after a single-vehicle rollover occurred at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, April 25.

The accident happened west of the intersection of CR 500S and CR 800W, west of Burket. The driver appeared to suffer non life-threatening injuries. Parkview Samaritan medical helicopter was called to the scene to airlift the patient, but those plans were canceled.

Authorities believe the driver was headed east on CR 500S when he lost control of the vehicle on the gravel road and rolled it in a cornfield north of the road. The driver was momentarily trapped in the vehicle, according to a Kosciusko County deputy at the scene.

In addition to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, also responding were Lutheran EMS, Mentone EMS and Burket Fire.  

No other details were immediately available.
