Warsaw Falls Back At Midwest Classic Invite
DEMOTTE – It wasn’t ideal outside and certainly wasn’t an ideal outcome for the Warsaw Tigers. But Saturday’s performance at the Midwest Classic Invite is experience the Warsaw boys golf team can take going forward.
Warsaw placed 13th out of 15 teams with a 393 at Sandy Pines Golf Club, host for one of the IHSAA regional sites later this spring.
Warsaw was among several state contenders, including the tournament champion Zionsville, which shot 327 and used a fifth-man tiebreaker to best Penn and its 327. The Kingsmen were runner-up a week ago at the Don Dicken Classic hosted by Warsaw.
Cal Hoskins again led Warsaw with an 82, which had him 11th in what was a day that featured 30-plus-mile-per-hour winds. In comparison, the individual medalist for the day was Carmel’s Nick Katsis at 75.
Warsaw returns home Monday for a dual against Triton.
