Market Street Work Extends To Scott Street Next Week
WARSAW — Phase two of the Market Street reconstruction project is progressing.
Construction along a stretch of East Market east of Hickory Street began March 11 and is already moving a bit more to the east.
The contractor, Phend & Brown, Milford, notified the city earlier this week that beginning Tuesday, April 9, the street closure along East Market will be extended to Scott Street. This means that the street will be closed to all thru traffic from Tamarack Street to Scott Street, according to a news release from the city.
Access remains open to residents only. Residents with alley access are encouraged to avoid driving through the construction area. All other traffic should find an alternate route, the news release said.
The project includes installation of new pavement, curbs, sidewalks and lighting.
Construction is expected to continue until October, depending on the weather.
