Four Local Toll Road Troopers Receive Patrol Cars
KOSCIUSKO — Four Indiana State troopers assigned to the Toll Road Post with local roots received their patrol cars after completing three months in the ISP Field Training Program. The probationary troopers graduated from the 78th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in December 2018. The entire class was issued their state police cars during a ceremony held at the Indiana State Police Youth Education and Historical Center in Indianapolis on Tuesday, April 2.
Nathan Littlefield is a native of Syracuse. He graduated from Concord High School and earned a criminal justice degree from Southwestern College in Michigan. Littlefield will patrol Porter, LaPorte and St. Joseph County.
Jacob Bill is a native of Warsaw and a graduate of Warsaw High School. After graduating high school, Bill joined the Air National Guard. Bill will patrol in LaGrange and Steuben Counties.
Luis Alvarez is a native of Warsaw and a graduate of Warsaw High School. Alvarez earned an Associates Degree in criminal justice from Ivy Tech. Alvarez will patrol St. Joseph, Elkhart and LaGrange Counties.
Nikolos Anderson is a native of Syracuse and a graduate of Wawasee High School. Anderson earned in a degree in conservation law enforcement from Vincennes University. Anderson will patrol in St. Joseph, Elkhart and LaGrange Counties.
While at the academy the recruits received 22 weeks of intense training. Their graduation was the culmination of more than 1000 hours of training that included criminal law, emergency vehicle operations and traffic law. The academy training also covered other facets of law enforcement including criminal investigation, crash investigation, self-defense and other general law enforcement related areas of instruction.
