Warsaw Woman Arrested For Strangulation, Domestic Battery
KOSCIUSKO — A Warsaw woman was arrested for strangulation and domestic battery after battering two women.
Bonnie Ann Stewart, 38, 2097 S. Maple Run, Warsaw, is being charged with strangulation, a level 6 felony; domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; and battery with bodily waste, a class B misdemeanor.
On March 26, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of domestic battery. The officer spoke with a female witness at the scene, who said a female at the residence had been very sick and just got out of the hospital.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Stewart arrived at the residence intoxicated and began using profanity, putting her hands around the female’s throat. Stewart then let go of the female’s neck and attacked the female witness. As the witness held Stewart’s arms to keep her from punching her, Stewart spit on her.
The officer observed spit on the witness’s shirt, as well as marks on the female subject’s neck. Stewart admitted she battered the female and when talking about spitting on the witness stated “it was a good one.”
Stewart has been released on her own recognizance and has a hearing scheduled for 1 p.m. April 18 in Kosciusko County Court 3.
