Warner Files Declaration Of Candidacy For Claypool Town Council Member Vacancy
KOSCIUSKO — Gene Warner has filed a declaration of candidacy for the vacant Claypool Town Council member position.
Warner has lived in the town of Claypool for more than 60 years. He worked as a town employee for 28 years, retiring in February of this year. While employed by the town, Warner worked as Claypool’s water and street superintendent, as well as several other positions. Warner also was a fireman for 39 years.
“I have a lot of experience since I worked for the town and I’ve lived in Claypool all my life,” said Warner. “I’ve been to all the town meetings ever since I started working as a town employee and I hope to continue working for the town by serving on the council.”
Since fewer than two people would be eligible to participate in a precinct committeeman caucus to fill the vacancy, the county chair of the party of the elected vacancy will name the replacement.
Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee Chairman Mike Ragan will appoint the new Claypool Town Council member at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the Kosciusko County Clerk’s office. The appointee will serve the remainder of the term of the elected Republican town council member Larry Neher.
