Warsaw Man Arrested After Attempting To Flee From Traffic Stop
KOSCIUSKO — A Warsaw man was recently arrested as he attempted to flee from police during a traffic stop.
Cyrus Eugene Arrowood, 31, 1337 N. CR 400E, Warsaw, is being charged with resisting law enforcement, a level 6 felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor.
On March 16, an officer with the Winona Lake Police Department observed a vehicle traveling 56 mph in a 35 mph zone. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Arrowood. After obtained Arrowood’s information, the officer discovered an active warrant for his arrest.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer asked Arrowood to step out of the vehicle to conduct a search. While the officer attempted to search Arrowood’s person, Arrowood attempted to flee from custody. The officer was able to stop Arrowood from fleeing and continued his search. The officer located an Adderall pill, a schedule II controlled substance.
Arrowood was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on March 16, with a $5,750 surety and cash bond. He is scheduled to appear for an initial hearing on April 26.
