SYRACUSE — Syracuse-Wawasee Park Foundation Inc. Tuesday, March 26, failed to gather a quorum for its bimonthly meeting, but those present informally discussed several status updates without taking official action.
Foundation members Tom Edington and Amy Hershberger and Syracuse Park Superintendent Chad Jonsson discussed the following:
• The parks department is completing preparations of the athletic complex in Syracuse for summer activities, including youth baseball, for which sign-up is now available. Practices will begin after spring break.
• The foundation has applied for a $1 million grant from the state for trail funding.
• The foundation is seeking funding to incorporate Laudeman Park, at the end of Wildwood Drive in the Wawasee Heights area, into the existing trail system. Upgrading the park’s parking area is also part of the plan.
No official action was taken and no date was set for the next meeting.
