Robotic Hernia Repair Seminar And Screening Event At Parkview Center For Healthy Living
WARSAW — Each year, thousands of Americans suffer from the chronic pain and discomfort of a hernia. But today, rather than facing a highly invasive surgical procedure that involves large scars and significant downtime, patients have a choice. Parkview Warsaw Center for Healthy Living is hosting a free seminar and hernia screening featuring Dr. Francisco Reyes, Parkview Physicians Group, General Surgery, and the da Vinci robotic surgical system at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20. The presentation will explain the many benefits of robotic surgery and will also allow attendees the opportunity to have a hands-on experience with a da Vinci robotic model.
Reyes, who completed specialized training on the da Vinci platform, has performed hundreds of hernia procedures at Parkview Regional Medical Center and Parkview Randallia in Fort Wayne. He is now performing the procedure at nearby Parkview Whitley Hospital, using the da Vinci Si robotic platform.
“Many of my patients put off hernia surgery for years and just lived in pain because they were worried about a long recovery. This robotic system can prevent so many of the issues associated with traditional surgery,” explained Reyes. “As a surgeon, I am able to make a much smaller incision, and I have a three-dimensional, high-definition view of the site during the procedure. All these things can help provide less discomfort and a faster overall recovery for the patient.”
This presentation is free, but seating is limited. Please reserve your seat by calling (260) 266-6500. The Parkview Warsaw Center for Healthy Living is located inside the Parkview Warsaw YMCA at 1305 Mariners Drive, Warsaw.
