NORTH WEBSTER — North Webster Community Center has revived one of its most successful fundraisers and named it after a long time supporter, Jon Sroufe. The Sroufe Memorial Shrimp Stag Men’s Night Out will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the center, 301 N. Main St.
A grand prize of $1,000 will be awarded to a ticket holder. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at North Webster Community Center, North Webster NewMarket and North Webster Ace Hardware. Proceeds will go to support the operation of the NWCC.
Sroufe, who died Sept. 23, 2018, was a major mover and shaker behind the community center and served as board president for many years. To honor his contributions, the board is bringing back this popular event and selling only 400 tickets.
The ticket entitles the holder to raffle entry, an all you can eat shrimp and pulled pork dinner with a variety of sides and beverages including beer. A cash bar will be available. The food is provided by Chubbie’s Pub & Grub.
Also included with the ticket are opportunities to play games of chance such as bar poker, blackjack, left-right-center and cornhole toss. There will be a 50-50 drawing and pull tabs to participate in.
Other raffle prizes will be awarded besides the $1,000 and you must be 21 years of age to purchase a ticket.
