Madison Elementary Responds To Potential Threat March 11
WARSAW — This morning, school staff at Madison Elementary School implemented a precautionary lockout after the discovery of live ammunition at the location. Although no weapon was discovered, school personnel immediately implemented safety protocols to ensure student and staff safety. All kids in the building as well as all bags were searched through the use of a metal detector wand as per Warsaw Community Schools safety policy.
School staff were assisted by school resource officers from Warsaw Police Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office in order to ensure the utmost measures were taken to ensure no actual threat was present. Following the investigation, it was determined no safety threat was present at the building.
In a press release, the school corporation said “Warsaw Community Schools appreciates the continued support of its staff, students, parents and local law enforcement in creating a safe and secure environment for student learning.”
