WINONA LAKE — Recently, a fifth-grade class from Leesburg Elementary School took the day to spread love throughout the community, specifically at Grace Village Retirement Community. The students wanted to enrich the lives of others on a holiday that is oftentimes reserved specifically for their significant others.

Students and residents were delighted to have the invaluable experience of connecting with different generations. Residents shared their life experiences and stories with Leesburg students. Some told of their world travels and others told of their families.

Students were able to teach the residents how to participate in activities that the residents had never played before.
