Bid Approved For East Washington Street Gates
NORTH WEBSTER — After a discussion about the proposed use for The Lodge, a former motel, North Webster Town Council took care of regular business.
Approved was a bid from T Square Mill & Elevator Supply, Leesburg, of $4,674 for galvanized posts and gates at the end of East Washington Street where it adjoins Webster Lake. It included labor. Paving will take place after installation.
Police Chief Greg Church noted, “We are in the hiring process to replace Officer Dan Buell.” He served about two and one-half years and will be employed by the Syracuse Police Department. He will buy out his contract.
Utilities Manager Jayne Alger reported, “A new pump had been ordered and otherwise everything was going well. The crew has been dealing with the extreme weather.” Park Board Secretary Tammy Waliczek said the roof on the restaurant building at the park is almost completed.
In other police news, 230 calls of service were made in January with officers hours at 834.5, 4,512 miles driven and 400.5 gallons of fuel used. The most calls were citizen assists, traffic related and accidents.
