Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
4:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, East CR 300N and Foreman Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Raeann E. McCarthy, 20, North Harrison Street, Syracuse. McCarthy told police she was driving her vehicle westbound on CR 300N when a deer entered the roadway. She told police she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
6:25 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, East Wawasee Drive and East CR 1100N, Syracuse. Driver: Rachel N. Blankenship, 21, West CR 250S, Warsaw. Police said Blankenship was driving her vehicle southbound on East Wawasee Drive when her vehicle proceeded straight off the road at a 90-degree turn, striking a tree. Blankenship was transported by helicopter to Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital. A blood test was taken from Blankenship and results are pending. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:11 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, East Center Street and North Scott Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Felisa Gomora, 60, 11th Street, Nuevo, Calif.; Daniel D. Foreman, 45, West Center Street, Warsaw. A witness driving in the vehicle behind Foreman’s vehicle told police she was traveling westbound on East Center Street and saw the light turn red before Foremen’s vehicle entered the intersection, where it was struck by the vehicle driven by Gomora. Both Gomora and Forement complained of pain, but refused transport to a hospital. Damage up to $10,000.
7:06 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, South Logan Street, south of West Eagle Street, Warsaw. Driver: Leeann K. Miner, 44, Sheridan Street, Warsaw. Miner told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on South Logan Street when a deer entered the roadway. She told police she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
3:59 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, South Buffalo Street, north of East Market Street, Warsaw. Driver: Devan R. Sands, 38, East Dresdin Drive, Warsaw. Sands told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on South Buffalo Street and misjudged a turn into a parking spot, causing her vehicle to strike a parked vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
10:08 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, West Center Street, Warsaw. An unnamed driver told police his vehicle was parked in the Zimmer parking lot and received damage to the front bumper while he was working. Damage up to $2,500.
