WCS Board Member Attends ISBA Statehouse Day
INDIANAPOLIS — Randy Polston, board member of the Warsaw Community Schools’ Board of School Trustees, recently represented WCS at the Indiana School Boards Association’s first annual ISBA Statehouse Day at the Embassy Suites Downtown Hotel in Indianapolis.
This half-day seminar helped the legislative liaisons of school boards better understand the Indiana School Boards Association’s 2019 Legislative Priorities.
Terry Spradlin, ISBA executive director, presented a briefing on the 2019 Indiana General Assembly Legislative Session to-date, along with presenting the priority bills for ISBA.
Following that in-depth presentation, attendees were able to participate in a panel discussion with President Pro Tempore Rod Bray, Representative Ed Delaney, and Representative Bob Behning.
Following a lunch discussion with their invited local legislators, attendees made their way to the Indiana Statehouse to view the presentation of Senate Concurrent Resolution 30, which congratulated ISBA on its 70th anniversary. Attendees were dismissed after the presentation of the resolution to conduct previously scheduled meetings with their local legislators.
