WCS Staff Provide Over 200 Boomerang Backpacks To Families In Need
WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools staff banded together Friday, Feb. 1, to provide food for families in need.
Following the adverse winter weather and historic cold temperatures last week, many families have not been able to leave home or work. WCS staff, concerned about local families who may be without food due to these hardships, stepped up to help deliver well over 200 Boomerang Backpacks filled with food. Teachers, administrators, nurses and bus drivers delivered these backpacks despite the closure of school to ensure the safety and wellness of our community.
Warsaw Community Schools would like to thank its staff for coming together and working as a team to enrich the lives of others and put the WCS mission statement into action. The WCS mission is “to inspire and equip all students to continuously acquire and apply knowledge and skills while pursuing their dreams and enriching the lives of others.”
If you are in need of food or would like to give to the Boomerang Backpack program, please contact Tracey Akers, head nurse coordinator, at [email protected].
