KOSCIUSKO — A Claypool woman was arrested after officers discovered child pornography on her phone.
Roselyn Beatrice Burkhart, 38, 107 N. Rebecca St., Claypool, is being charged with two counts of child exploitation, level 4 felonies; and two counts of child pornography, level 6 felonies.
In September 2018, an officer with the Indiana State Police received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children through Facebook of child pornography that was uploaded on June 19.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer found the child pornography had been obtained by subjects living at 107 N. Rebecca St., Claypool. The child pornography provided was of children under the age of 12 involved in sexual conduct while in bondage, sexual conduct of children under the age of 18 engaged in bestiality, and children under the age of 12 involved in sexual conduct.
The officer obtained a search warrant for the residence. On Jan. 17, the officer served the search warrant to a male and female subject at the residence. The female was identified as Burkhart. Through interviews, the officer determined that the pornography was on Burkhart’s cellular device.
Officers searched Burkhart’s cellular phone and found child pornography. Burkhart admitted that she downloaded child pornography from the Internet to the male subject’s Kik account. She then sent the downloaded images to her cellular device by using the male’s Facebook messenger and sending the images to her Facebook messenger and to her devices.
Burkhart was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Jan. 17, with a $15,250 surety and cash bond.
