Jack Brunetto Files For District 5 Seat On Warsaw Common Council
WARSAW — Jack Brunetto, Democrat, has filed for the District 5 seat on Warsaw Common Council.
He released the following statements:
“I have done my homework. I am not just jumping in to try to upset the apple cart. I have attended, in person or a couple of times online, every council meeting for the last one and a half years as well as the board of works meetings. I did not think it was wise to run without knowing exactly what I was running for. At each meeting, I looked at it thinking if I was on the council would I have made a difference?”
“I believe the citizens of Warsaw are intelligent enough to realize the differences between Republicans and Democrats on a national level are not something that is going to be dealt with here on a local level. I remember years ago Bob Richmond was a Democrat City Council member, noted for always putting the city first and personal wishes aside. I would like to be a part of that kind of administration.”
“I think the city is actually run pretty well, but there were a couple issues over the past year that I had questions about. One main issue is the number of items brought before the council on an ’emergency basis.’ The city must suspend the normal procedure and vote on the matter immediately rather than follow the rules and give residents an opportunity to ask questions. Also, the number of issues that were clearly decided beforehand and voted on publicly merely as a matter of record.”
“It is not my goal to run as an obstructionist but to ensure the residents of the 5th district are represented fairly.”
