Indiana State Trooper Dukes To Embark On New Role As Kosciusko County Sheriff
KOSCIUSKO — Tomorrow begins a new chapter for former Indiana State Trooper Kyle Dukes as he takes on a new role as Sheriff of Kosciusko County.
Dukes is a native of Kendallville and a 1995 graduate of East Noble High School. He attended Ivy Tech earning an associate’s degree and then went on to attend Tri-State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management.
Dukes graduated from the Indiana State Police 60th Recruit Academy and was assigned to the Bremen District where he was assigned to patrol Elkhart County and most recently Kosciusko County. While at the Bremen Post Dukes served as a Field Training Officer, Tactical Intervention Platoon, as well as a background investigator. Dukes was also selected as the Bremen Post Trooper of the Year in 2009.
Dukes is a second-generation trooper and sheriff. His father served with the Indiana State Police for twenty years and served as a two-term elected Sheriff for Noble County. Dukes says, “It was truly an honor to be a member of the Indiana State Police for 18 years and to be a second-generation trooper. I am looking forward to a great working relationship with the Indiana State Police.”
Dukes resides in Kosciusko County with his family and officially takes office on Jan. 1, 2019.
