MILFORD — The Milford Public Library has announced it will be closed Monday, Dec. 31 and Tuesday, Jan. 1 for the New Years holiday. Patrons will be able to drop off books or movies in the drop boxes on the south side of the library. The library will reopen Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 10 a.m.
Family Movie Day
The library will show an animated adventure for all ages on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 2 p.m. in the Milford Public Library meeting room. The movie is about a bright young Yeti who finds something he thought didn’t exist, a human. The news that humans exist spreads around the Yeti community, which gets the Yetis thinking, what else might be out there in the big world beyond their snowy village? This movie stars Channing Tatum, James Corden, Zendaya, LeBron James, and Danny DeVito. It is rated PG and is 92 minutes long.
Make And Take Crafts
Parents can keep their child occupied during winter break with the crafts the library will have out in the children’s department. The crafts can be made at the library or at home later. The crafts will be available the days the library is open through Jan. 5. Each day will be a new, free project.
Knitting Club
Interested patrons can join the members of the Knitting Club on Thursday, Jan. 3 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. to knit or crochet a blanket for the cold weather, or complete your existing project. New members are welcome. The members will teach anyone interested how to knit and crochet. No library card or registration is needed.
Adult Reading Club Begins
Adults 18 and older can win prizes through the Adult Reading Program at Milford Public Library starting Jan. 2. Participants can enter their name into a weekly drawing for a prize for each bingo they get by reading books or listening to audio books.
The theme is “Fiction, Food, and Fun.” Stop by the Adult circulation desk for a BINGO card and the rules of the club. During the month of January, participants are welcome to enjoy a hot cocoa bar on Fridays. The library will have an assortment of hot chocolate and toppings to choose from. No library card is needed.
