Two File Declarations Of Candidacy For Etna Green Clerk-Treasurer Vacancy
KOSCIUSKO — Two people have filed declarations of candidacy for the Etna Green Clerk-Treasurer vacancy.
Patricia K. Cook has lived in Etna Green since 1984. She is married with seven children. Cook worked at an auto repair business for 15 years.
“Because of that work, I’m very familiar with budgets and keeping people on track,” said Cook. “I love Etna Green and I want to help the community.”
Amanda C. Ewing has lived in Etna Green her entire life and is currently employed at the town’s Subway restaurant. Her great-grandfather worked as the town’s postmaster.
“I feel that everyone knows me in town,” said Ewing. “I have a feel for the town and what the people want and need for representation.”
The only precinct committeeman for Etna Township is Steve Sechrist. According to procedure, when there is only one precinct committeeman, the county chair of the party of the elected vacancy names the replacement.
After discussion with Mr. Sechrist, Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee Chariman Mike Ragan will appoint the new Etna Green Clerk-Treasurer at noon Friday, Dec. 21, at the Kosciusko County Clerk’s office. The appointee will serve the remainder of the term of the elected Republican Clerk-Treasurer Laura Baker. The appointment will be effective Jan. 1, 2019.
