LEESBURG — One person was injured in a vehicle accident after crashing into a tree near Armstrong Road and CR 200E, Leesburg.

At 4:22 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, Valerie L. Kirkpatrick, 53, North CR 850E, Leesburg, was traveling west on Armstrong Road when her vehicle left the roadway, running over a wire fence and striking a large tree. When officers arrived on the scene, Kirkpatrick appeared to be suffering from a medical episode. An officer used a glass breaker to gain entry into the vehicle.

Kirkpatrick was treated by Lutheran EMS and later transferred to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Her injuries were listed as a complaint of pain on her entire body.

Damages were estimated at up to $25,000.
