Warsaw Man Arrested After Officers Find Meth, Paraphernalia In Vehicle
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after officers discovered meth and drug paraphernalia in a vehicle.
Brayton Franklin Myers, 20, 1011 E. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a syringe, both level 6 felonies; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On Nov. 30, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department observed a vehicle with an inoperable headlight and conducted a traffic stop. The officer identified the passenger of the vehicle as Myers. While speaking with the driver and Myers, a K9 unit conducted an outer air search of the vehicle and made a positive alert.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Myers said he had a marijuana smoking device in his pocket. Officers also found two syringes in Myers’ pocket. Myers admitted to using the syringes to inject methamphetamine.
While searching the vehicle, officers discovered digital scales that contained a crystal-like residue, red colored plastic baggies, and a silver lockbox. After obtaining a search warrant for the lockbox, officers found two glass smoking devices that tested positive for meth, a cut straw with residue, an intravenous tube, a pen tube, two red plastic bags, a metal spoon, Q-tips, razor blades and three plastic bags containing meth. The three plastic bags weighed 1.6 grams.
While talking with the driver and Myers, an officer overheard Myers say that he should have “just thrown it out the window.”
Myers has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance. He has an initial hearing date at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, in Kosciusko Circuit Court.
