Allen, Clark, Martin Honored At Annual Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Department Christmas Dinner

SILVER LAKE — The Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Department held their annual Christmas dinner event Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Silver Lake fire station.
The annual Christmas dinner is for current and retired firefighters and their families. Silver Lake residents are invited, along with members of the township boards and their families. On-duty Parkview crews are invited as well.
The firefighter of the year award is given out at the dinner, along with plaques and certificates for years of service and/or retirement.
According to SL Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief John Conley, approximately 60 people attended this year’s dinner event. Illusionist Kevin Long provided entertainment, and Santa Claus stopped by to visit with the children.
SL firefighter Kyle Martin was honored for 10 years of service, SL firefighter Addison Allen was selected as firefighter of the year and retired firefighter Robbie Clark was presented with a shadow box.
