Warsaw Rotary Club To Celebrate 91st Annual ‘Rotary Toy Day’
WARSAW — The Warsaw Rotary Club will celebrate the annual “Rotary Toy Day” at its meeting at noon Friday, Dec. 7, at the Shrine Building at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds.
“The event was started in 1927 to support the outreach of The Salvation Army at Christmas,” said Ken Locke, chairman. “This year marks the 91st annual gathering of toys to help children now through Angel Tree.”
The public is invited to drop gifts off at Alderfer Bergen & Co., 122 W. Market St., in Warsaw until Friday, Dec. 14, to support Angel Tree. A bell ringer will also be at First Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 7 to receive financial and toy donations. The Salvation Army helps over 200 children with gifts during the holidays and some toys are stored to help families in crisis during the year such as home fires, etc.
