Warsaw Woman Arrested After Officer Offers Transportation And Discovers Drugs
WINONA LAKE — A Warsaw woman was arrested after officers offered her transportation and discovered drugs on her person.
Heather Jean Fountain, 27, 944 E. Garfield St., Warsaw, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On Saturday, Nov. 24, an officer with the Winona Lake Police Department responded to a report of two individuals dressed in all black walking on Old Road 30.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, when the officer arrived, he identified one of the subjects as Fountain. To ensure they arrived at their destination safely, the officer offered the two subjects a ride and they accepted. The subjects were transported separately.
The officer noticed a bulge in two of Fountain’s pants pockets. When the officer asked what was in her pocket, Fountain said it was a bandanna and handed it to him. With her permission, the officer looked inside the bandanna and found a glass smoking device with a white powdery substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Also found on Fountain’s person was a green cut plastic straw with a white powdery substance and a metal smoking device.
Fountain has already been arrested and released on her own recognizance. She has an initial hearing date set at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, in Kosciusko Circuit Court.
