Roberts Found Guilty Of Robbery, Sentenced To 12 Years
KOSCIUSKO — A man with addresses listed in both Warsaw and Indianapolis was sentenced in Kosciusko Superior Court Thursday, Nov. 29.
Christopher W. Roberts, 38, pleaded guilty to robbery, a level 3 felony. Roberts was arrested in January for his involvement in two armed robberies that month. An investigation by Indiana State Police found that Roberts committed armed robberies at the Freedom Express Gas Station on East Center Street in Warsaw and the Clark Gas Station on SR 15 and SR 114 in North Manchester.
In court today, Roberts stated he has battled addiction most of his adult life. He told Judge David Cates that his goals are to beat his addiction and to be a good father and a productive member of society.
Cates sentenced Roberts to 12 years at the Indiana Department of Corrections. Three years of the sentence was ordered to be suspended and served on formal probation, on the condition that Roberts does not commit any additional crimes.
The sentence was ordered to be served concurrent with the sentence imposed in case 85C01-1802-F30-112 in Wabash County. Roberts was ordered to have no contact with the victims.
