Traffic Stop Leads To Multiple Drug Arrests
WARSAW — A man from Mishawaka and a Nappanee woman are both facing multiple drug-related charges after police made a traffic stop in Warsaw earlier this month.
Christopher Aaron Susaraba, 28, 1134 B.J. Street, Mishawaka, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor. Jade Renee Keeling, 27, 50 MD Acres, Nappanee, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor. Jenette Leah Harner, 27, 8896 S. Hill Drive, Silver Lake; and Amanda Brooke Fahlbeck, 30, 601 E. Lincoln St., Apt. C, Nappanee, were both booked for the same offenses on Nov. 4, but have not had official charges filed.
According to police, an officer with the Warsaw City Police Department walked near a silver Nissan in the Lassus Handy Dandy parking lot on Nov. 3 and confirmed the smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The officer reported the vehicle contained one male driver and three female passengers.
Police reported that the man drove the vehicle out of the parking lot and began driving westbound on Dubois Drive, where officers reported witnessing the vehicle cross the center line. A traffic stop was made and officers reported identifying the driver as Susaraba and the passengers as Keeling, Harner and Fahlbeck.
Police said Susaraba had an active warrant in St. Joseph County. Police said that while officers were talking to Susaraba, he began to have a seizure and requested water. The affidavit of probable cause said Susaraba then vomited and was taken to the hospital by emergency medical technicians.
Officers used a K-9 officer to conduct an open air search of the vehicle and drugs were detected. Inside the vehicle and in several purses, officers found cash, smoking devices and digital scales.
Both Keeling and Susaraba are due in Kosciusko Circuit Court on Nov. 29 at 8:15 a.m. for an initial hearing.
