Claypool
Officers from the Claypool Police Department investigated the following accident:
5:03 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, SR 13, south of East CR 650E, Pierceton. Driver: Kyle E. Slater, East 1st Street, South Whitley. Police said Slater was driving his vehicle southbound on SR 13 when his vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a mail box. Police said Slater left the scene, but later returned to pick up parts of his vehicle before again leaving the scene. According to police, Slater was later arrested on multiple charges. Damage up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers from the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
4:03 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, North SR 13, south of Executive Boulevard, Syracuse. Driver: Tony R. Cassidy, 50, EMS R2B Lane, Pierceton. Cassidy told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
12:21 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, North Parker Street, north of Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Jennifer L. Cochran, 42, North Nash Drive, Syracuse; Rebecca A. Powers, 71, South CR 175W, Warsaw. Cochran told police she was in her vehicle stopped at an intersection behind the vehicle driven by Powers. While stopped, Cochran said she started to sneeze and that her foot slipped off the brake, causing her vehicle to move forward and collide with the rear of Powers’ vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
